dies lunae

Sunday morning, students had the opportunity to sleep in, attend mass, or study for their afternoon classes. After this relaxing period, the students were able to spend 30 minutes on the computer! Gaudete! Many sent emails to family and friends and caught up on current events; some even checked their SAT scores. Later that night, students celebrated Sunday and enhanced their knowledge of Shakespeare by attending the Richmond Shakespeare Company's performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream. In Dr. Franko's class today, students discussed how the actors' use of natural light and areas surrounding the stage provided audience members a deeper connection with the play. On this first day of week two, which everyone celebrated during last night's volvifolium (page-turning) celebration, students used chalk to practice Greek declensions and verb endings, and then they enjoyed an hour and a half of gym time -- many discipuli took advantage of the pool, as it was 100 degrees out! Following dinner, students will hear the first part of Mr. Cory Holec's presentation on the economic forces of the Roman world.
